Back in 2009, I saw a post in On Living By Learning entitled “So Many Places to See.” The author, Sandra Foyt, said she was planning to travel throughout the United States that summer and she added, “I’d also like to add a bit of Storybook Travel by stopping at sites that are the setting for children’s books.”
On a whim, I decided to write down a list of books for children and young adults with strong settings in US, at least one for each of the 50 states. It took me longer than I expected, but it was fun. So fun, in fact, I’ve been adding to the lists ever since.
If you have suggestions for books with strong settings, please leave a comment on the appropriate page or contact me at wrappedinfoilblog (at) gmail.com.
